A glass door on a commercial refrigerator or display cabinet relies on a rigid outer frame to hold the glazing panel and seal the opening. The frame is the structural perimeter that carries the weight of the glass, aligns the hinges and latch, and presses the gasket against the cabinet body to keep the cold air inside. Without a secure outer frame, the door would sag, the seal would leak, and the refrigeration cycle would run continuously, raising energy costs and shortening the life of the compressor.
This Tefcold spare part is a complete outer frame manufactured in aluminium. Aluminium is chosen for its combination of light weight and strength: it resists bending under the load of the glass, yet adds minimal extra weight to the door assembly. The metal is formed into a continuous channel that surrounds the glazing panel, providing a uniform surface for the gasket to press against. The frame is supplied as a single unit, ready to accept the existing glass and hardware without modification.
To replace the frame, the operator first removes the door from the cabinet and lays it on a flat worktop. The old frame is unclipped or unscrewed, the glass panel is lifted out, and the new frame is positioned around the edge of the panel. The glass is then lowered back into the channel, and the frame is secured with the original fasteners. Once the door is re-hung, the hinges are checked for alignment and the gasket is inspected for a continuous seal.
The aluminium construction requires no special maintenance beyond routine cleaning with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Abrasive cleaners or steel wool should be avoided to prevent scratching the surface. The frame is designed as a direct replacement for the original part and fits the models of refrigeration equipment specified in the Tefcold spare-parts catalogue.
