A contactless handwash station removes the need to touch taps or soap dispensers, cutting cross-contamination in kitchens, healthcare settings and food production areas. Infrared sensors detect the user's hands and release a measured flow of water and soap without physical contact. This method relies on battery-powered or mains-powered electronics to trigger solenoid valves, keeping the system sealed when not in use and reducing water waste.
The operator places their hands beneath the spouts; the sensors activate and dispense water for a pre-set duration, followed by a separate dose of liquid soap. A second wave of the hands starts the rinse cycle. No levers, knobs or buttons are touched, so bacteria and viruses cannot transfer from one user to the next.
The Novameta Contactless Handwash Station 2009 is constructed from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, ease of sanitising and long service life in wet environments. The unit is supplied as a single assembly ready for wall mounting or integration into a worktop.
Cleaning follows from the materials and construction: stainless steel surfaces are wiped with a mild detergent and hot water, while the sensor lenses are kept free of soap residue to maintain reliable operation. The soap and water reservoirs are refilled through access panels that do not require tools.
The station is custom-made in any size to suit the available space and user traffic, ensuring a precise fit for each installation.
