A lock secures the door of an upright freezer by engaging a metal bolt into the cabinet frame. When the key turns, the bolt slides into a strike plate, holding the door closed against the gasket. This seal prevents warm air from entering, keeping the internal temperature stable and reducing the load on the refrigeration system. Without a functioning lock, the door may drift open, causing frost build-up and energy waste.
To replace the lock, the operator removes the interior door panel, unbolts the old lock assembly, and fits the new one in the same position. The keyhole aligns with the existing aperture in the door, so no additional cutting is required. Once secured, the key tests the bolt's movement before the panel is refastened.
This lock is designed as a direct replacement for the GUF140-P upright freezer, matching the original dimensions and fixing points. It fits the GN2/1 size cabinet, ensuring compatibility with standard gastronorm trays stored inside.
The part is manufactured by Tefcold SpareParts for their professional refrigeration range.
