An internal water pipe carries cooling water through refrigeration units that rely on water rather than air to remove heat. In a water-cooled system, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the cabinet and transfers it to a water circuit. The pipe forms the sealed conduit that keeps the water flowing in a continuous loop between the condenser coil and the external cooling tower or mains tap. Because the water never leaves the closed circuit, the pipe must be leak-proof and resistant to scale build-up to maintain steady cooling performance and prevent damage to the compressor.
To replace the pipe, the operator first isolates the water supply and drains the circuit. The old pipe is disconnected at both ends, usually with compression or push-fit joints. The new pipe is cut to the exact length required by the cabinet's internal routing, then fitted with the same type of connectors. Once the joints are tightened and the water supply restored, the system is checked for leaks before the refrigeration unit is switched back on.
The pipe is supplied as a plain length of flexible tubing without connectors or fittings. It is sized to match the original equipment specification, ensuring compatibility with Tefcold water-cooled refrigerators, display cabinets and under-counter chillers.
Cleaning is limited to occasional flushing of the entire water circuit to remove sediment. The pipe itself has no moving parts and requires no maintenance beyond ensuring the joints remain tight and free from corrosion.
