An insulated food transport container keeps prepared dishes at serving temperature while they move from kitchen to service point. The double-walled construction traps a layer of still air between the inner and outer shells. Still air is a poor conductor of heat, so the container slows the transfer of warmth or chill from the food to the surrounding air. This method does not rely on power, ice packs or heating elements; the insulation works passively, extending the time hot dishes stay hot and cold dishes stay cold without additional energy or intervention. The operator loads the container by sliding gastronorm (GN) bacs into the pressed guides inside. These guides hold each bac at a fixed height, preventing lateral movement and stacking. The container accepts 12 shallow GN 10 mm bacs, 6 GN 65 mm bacs, 4 GN 100 mm bacs, 3 GN 150 mm bacs or 2 deep GN 200 mm bacs. Once loaded, the lid closes to seal the insulated cavity. Two sturdy handles on the sides allow one person to carry the container, while the pressed guides keep the bacs aligned and stable during transport. The body is moulded from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), a material chosen for its balance of strength, light weight and resistance to impact. The double walls are fused during manufacture, eliminating seams that could weaken or harbour dirt. The interior surface is smooth and non-porous, so food residues do not cling and cleaning is straightforward. The material withstands repeated washing and the mechanical stresses of daily transport in catering, hotels, canteens and event services. Internal dimensions of 335 mm by 533 mm by 590 mm high provide a footprint that matches standard gastronorm shelving and trolleys. The pressed guides inside are spaced to align with GN bac sizes, so each bac sits level and secure. The container has no controls; it relies on the insulation properties of the double wall and the seal of the lid to maintain temperature. The external size of 477 mm by 680 mm by 620 mm high determines the space the container occupies on a worktop, in a vehicle or on a trolley. The weight, though not specified, is kept low by the polyethylene construction, making it manageable for one person to lift when loaded with shallow bacs. The two handles are positioned to balance the load and reduce strain during carrying. The smooth polyethylene walls shed grease and sauces without trapping residue, so the container can be wiped down between services or hosed off at the end of the shift without disassembly. The smooth interior surface can be wiped with a cloth or sponge and standard kitchen sanitiser. The polyethylene resists staining and does not absorb odours, so the container does not retain flavours between uses. The pressed guides inside are accessible for cleaning, and the absence of corners or crevices simplifies the process. The container is not dishwasher-safe due to its size, but hand washing with warm water and detergent is sufficient for daily upkeep. The container is designed to hold gastronorm bacs only; no other inserts or accessories are included. A separate trolley is available for purchase, which allows the container to be wheeled rather than carried. The container itself is a single version with no variants or options.
