A solid melamine table top forms a hard, non-porous work surface that resists scratches, stains and heat from hot pans. The core is a dense particle board sealed on both faces with a melamine resin laminate that creates a smooth, hygienic finish. This construction keeps the top dimensionally stable under the weight of heavy equipment and repeated cleaning cycles typical in professional kitchens.
The operator places the 600 x 600 mm top directly onto a supporting frame or cupboard base. No additional fixing is required beyond the weight of the top itself, which holds it securely in place during food preparation and service. The 38 mm thickness gives a rigid, sag-free surface that can span standard catering underframes without intermediate support.
All edges are finished with a 2 mm ABS edging strip that matches the laminate colour. The edging protects the particle-board core from moisture ingress and chipping, extending the life of the top in wet or busy environments. The square profile and uniform thickness allow multiple tops to be butted together to form continuous worktops of any length.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the melamine surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The non-porous laminate prevents absorption of liquids and food debris, so no deep scrubbing or sealing is needed. The ABS edging can be cleaned in the same way, but abrasive pads should be avoided to prevent damage to the protective strip.
The 600 x 600 mm footprint fits standard catering underframes and modular cupboard systems, making it suitable for kitchens organised on a 600 mm grid. The 38 mm thickness is compatible with most commercial support frames and ensures the top remains level and stable under load.
