The KQ series ice makers are equipped with a vertically mounted evaporator made entirely of stainless steel and feature an innovative linear design along with high reliability.
Cooling system - water or air
Ice cubes 10 g (6/17 g on request)
An ice generator that produces dense, slow-melting cubes continuously for bars, restaurants and hotels. The KASTEL KQ 302 builds each cube by freezing water in a grid of moulds. A refrigeration cycle removes heat from the moulds, turning water into solid ice. The refrigerant R290 circulates through coils, absorbing heat and releasing it outside the unit. Once the cubes reach the set thickness, a heating element briefly warms the moulds so the cubes detach and drop into the storage container below. This method yields cubes that stay firm in drinks and melt more slowly than flaked or crushed ice.
To start a cycle, the operator fills the internal reservoir with fresh water. The electronic control system then begins the freezing sequence automatically. The machine monitors the water level and the ice thickness, stopping the cycle when the container is full or when the water runs low. The separate container holds the finished cubes until they are needed, preventing overfilling and keeping the ice clean.
The KQ 302 is built with a stainless-steel exterior and internal components that resist corrosion. The 760 mm width, 620 mm depth and 575 mm height allow it to fit beneath most worktops or on a sturdy shelf. At 71 kg, two people can move it into position without a trolley. The 1.25 kW power rating draws a modest load on a standard 230 V circuit, so it can share a supply with other kitchen equipment without tripping breakers.
The electronic control panel sets the cube size—6 g, 10 g or 17 g—so the operator can match the ice to the drink. A water-cooling system is available as an option for environments where ambient temperatures are high or where the machine runs for extended periods. The refrigerant R290 is a hydrocarbon with low environmental impact, chosen for its efficiency in small to medium ice makers.
Cleaning involves emptying the container, wiping the moulds and flushing the water reservoir to remove mineral deposits. The exterior is wiped with a damp cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could scratch the stainless steel. Regular maintenance keeps the cubes clear and the machine running at its 300 kg daily capacity.
The KQ 302 is listed in the catalogue under professional refrigeration and ice production equipment.
