The SP series ice makers are made entirely of stainless steel. They are top-class units within the Kastel range, equipped with the latest technology to ensure maximum efficiency and long-lasting performance.
Cooling system - water or air
Full ice cube 36 gr (42×45 mm)
This ice maker converts mains water into solid, slow-melting cubes continuously. A refrigeration circuit cools a vertical evaporator plate to freezing temperatures. Water flows over the plate in a thin film, freezing layer by layer until cubes reach the set thickness. After each cycle, a brief defrost pulse releases the cubes into the built-in storage container below. The process repeats automatically, using fresh water from the supply and removing excess to prevent mineral build-up. To begin, connect the water inlet, plug the machine into a 230 V single-phase socket, and switch on the electronic control panel. The panel shows the current status—freezing, defrosting, or standby—and allows adjustments to cube size or pauses for cleaning. When the container reaches its 70 kg capacity, a sensor halts production until cubes are removed. A clear front door lets staff check the fill level without opening the unit, minimising warm-air entry and ice melt. The cabinet is made from food-grade stainless steel for corrosion resistance and easy sanitising. The refrigeration system uses R290 refrigerant, a hydrocarbon with high efficiency and low environmental impact. A water-cooling circuit removes waste heat from the condenser, ensuring stable performance in warm environments. The 1.4 kW power rating reflects the compressor's electrical load for this output level. Controls include an on/off switch, a cycle-start button, and a digital display with arrows for adjusting cube thickness. Settings are stored in memory, so the machine resumes the previous programme after a power cut. A daily output of 160 kg suits busy bars or restaurants during service. The 70 kg storage container holds enough cubes for continuous use during peak demand. The 230 V supply matches standard single-phase circuits in most professional kitchens, while the 97 kg weight requires two people or a trolley for safe movement. The dimensions—840 mm wide, 760 mm deep, and 985 mm high—allow installation beneath worktops or as a freestanding unit. The smooth stainless-steel surfaces and removable water-cooled condenser let you wipe away lime scale and rinse the bin without tools after a busy shift. Stainless-steel surfaces and the removable water-distribution tray can be wiped with mild detergent and rinsed. The refrigeration circuit is sealed and requires no user intervention; refrigerant handling must be done by a certified technician. The water-cooled model includes an external heat exchanger needing periodic descaling to maintain efficiency. Two versions are available: the base model with an air-cooled condenser and the water-cooled option for high ambient temperatures or limited ventilation.
