Digital horizontal ice cream batch freezer with automatic extraction and electronic control for a proper gelato consistency.

- Article number: HSX600
A digital batch freezer continuously churns and freezes a liquid mix into gelato or sorbet by circulating it against a refrigerated cylinder wall. The mixer scrapes the frozen layer from the wall, folding air into the mix to create the smooth, creamy texture. The compressor cools the cylinder while the torque-controlled motor adjusts mixing speed to match the desired consistency, preventing over-churning or under-freezing.
The operator pours the prepared mix into the stainless steel tank, selects a pre-set recipe or adjusts the torque, density and trowel settings, then starts the cycle. The machine accelerates the mixer gradually to protect the transmission, while the POM scrapers rotate at three speeds, cleaning the cylinder wall and incorporating air. A defrost switch allows the tank to be cleared quickly between batches. Acoustic and visual indicators signal when the batch is ready or if a fault occurs. The door opens on double hinges for easy access, and the non-slip mat keeps the tank stable during operation.
Built from high-thickness stainless steel, the freezer is designed for wet environments and low-temperature work. The inverter-driven mixer reduces mechanical stress, and the self-adjusting scrapers maintain contact with the cylinder wall for consistent results. A customisable recipe programme lets the operator save settings for different textures, from creamy to compact and dry.
The 400 V three-phase supply powers the compressor and mixer, suitable for commercial kitchens with dedicated circuits. At 257 kg, the unit requires a fixed position on a level floor, and its 600 mm width, 830 mm depth and 1388 mm height fit into standard worktop layouts. The 60 L/h output allows continuous production of up to 10 L per cycle, with the option to start a new freezing cycle during extraction.
Cleaning involves removing the scrapers, wiping the tank and door with food-safe sanitiser, and using the defrost switch to clear residual ice. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion, and the sealed components protect against moisture. The freezer operates in batch mode only, with no continuous feed option.
