An ice basin maintains bottled drinks at serving temperature without dilution. Crushed ice surrounds the bottles, transferring cold evenly through the glass while the ice itself melts slowly. The method avoids the uneven chilling and condensation of refrigeration, keeping labels dry and drinks ready to pour at the moment they are ordered.

The operator fills the basin with ice to the rim, then lowers bottles into the bed. The shallow, open design allows bottles to be added or removed without disturbing the ice layer, so the temperature remains stable throughout service.
