6 GN 1/1
A drop-in bain marie basin creates a heated water bath beneath gastronorm pans, keeping prepared dishes at serving temperature without drying or scorching. The element heats the water, and the water transfers gentle, even heat to the pans above. This method prevents hot spots and keeps sauces, soups and vegetables ready for service throughout a shift.
The operator fits the basin into a cut-out in the worktop, connects the 230 V supply, fills the bath with water to the marked level, and places up to six GN 1/1 pans on the grid. The thermostat is set between +30 and +85 °C; once the water reaches the chosen temperature, the element cycles on and off to maintain it. Pans are removed and replaced as needed without disturbing the bath.
The basin is fabricated from stainless steel, with a welded rim that sits flush on the worktop. A single control knob adjusts the temperature, and an indicator light shows when power is on. The 3300 W element draws a steady load suitable for a dedicated kitchen circuit.
At 2074 mm long, the unit spans the width of a standard catering worktop and holds six full-size gastronorm pans side by side. The 280 mm depth allows room for water beneath the pan grid while keeping the overall height low enough for ergonomic access. A temperature range of +30 to +85 °C covers hot-holding for most menu items without risking bacterial growth at lower settings or overcooking at higher ones.
After service, the water is drained, the basin wiped down, and the stainless steel surface cleaned with a non-abrasive detergent. The grid lifts out for thorough cleaning of the bath interior.
This model is a single-zone drop-in basin designed for 6 GN 1/1 pans and is listed in the Novameta counter-top hot-holding section.
