A hood dishwasher operates by enclosing the washing chamber with a hinged hood. This creates a contained environment that maintains high temperatures and steam pressure during the wash and rinse cycles, improving cleaning performance. The operator places soiled items on a rack, then lifts and closes the hood. This action typically initiates the wash cycle. After the cycle, the hood is lifted to remove the clean items.

The HK1200EPI has a 500 x 500 mm basket and can accommodate items up to a maximum washing height of 425 mm.
