This heated upper shelf sits above a standard worktop, providing radiant warmth to keep plates and serving trays at the right temperature. Its low profile allows staff to slide items on and off without lifting over a high edge, while even heat distribution prevents cold spots that could chill food before it reaches the customer. A concealed element warms the entire surface uniformly. A thermostat cycles the element to maintain the set temperature, ensuring food remains at serving warmth without drying or overheating. Radiant heat avoids fan noise or air movement, protecting plated garnishes and delicate sauces. Before use, the operator clears the worktop beneath the shelf. The shelf is switched on, and the thermostat is set to the desired temperature, up to a maximum of +60 °C. Plates or plated dishes are placed directly on the shelf, spaced evenly for consistent heat distribution. The shelf remains on throughout service, keeping every item at the correct temperature. The shelf is constructed from a single piece of aluminium with a smooth, easy-clean surface. The embedded heating element is protected from spills and impact. Adjustable feet allow levelling on uneven floors and provide clearance for cleaning underneath. The unit measures 1800 mm wide, 300 mm deep, and 400 mm high, matching standard 1800 mm worktops. A single thermostat control adjusts the temperature between ambient and +60 °C. The power rating is 1.2 kW, indicating the load on the electrical circuit. The maximum load per shelf is 30 kg, allowing multiple plates or trays to be stored at once, provided the weight is evenly distributed. The 1800 mm width spans the full length of a standard worktop, offering heated storage across the entire pass. The 400 mm height keeps the shelf within easy reach while allowing clearance for stacked plates or taller dishes. The stainless-steel shelf retains warmth so plated dishes stay at serving temperature while the team plates the next course without reheating. The smooth aluminium surface resists staining and requires no seasoning. Adjustable feet should be checked regularly to ensure the shelf remains level and stable. Designed for use with Novameta Table 1800 worktops, this shelf is part of the heated pass-over equipment range.
