A backbar cooler keeps bottled drinks chilled behind the bar by circulating cold air inside a sealed cabinet. The door gasket is the flexible strip that presses against the cabinet when the door closes, creating an airtight barrier. Without this seal, warm air seeps in and cold air escapes, forcing the compressor to run longer and harder to hold the set temperature. Over time, the gasket can harden, crack or lose its shape, breaking the seal and raising energy costs while risking uneven cooling across the shelves.
To replace the gasket, the operator opens the cooler door fully, removes the old gasket by peeling it from its channel, and cleans any adhesive residue from the channel. The new gasket is pressed into place along the door perimeter, ensuring it sits evenly all the way round. Once the door is closed, the seal should compress uniformly, blocking air exchange and restoring the cooler's original efficiency.
This gasket is a direct replacement for the Tefcold DB200H-I backbar cooler. It matches the original dimensions and material, allowing the unit to maintain its specified temperature range and energy performance. The part is listed in the refrigeration spares section of the catalogue, under gaskets and seals for commercial coolers.
