A gas grill transfers heat directly from ceramic or metal burners to the food above, producing the high, even temperatures needed for searing and charring. The burners sit beneath a heavy cast-iron or steel grate; when the gas ignites, the grate radiates heat upwards, concentrating it on the food without the drying effect of a fan. This radiant method gives the classic grill marks and smoky flavour that a hob or oven cannot match, making it the standard for steaks, chops, burgers and grilled vegetables in professional kitchens.

The operator lights the grill by opening the gas tap and pressing the ignition button. Once the burners are alight, the control knobs adjust the flame height for each section of the grate, allowing different foods to cook at different intensities at the same time. The food is placed directly on the hot grate; no basket or tray is needed. The operator turns the food once or twice to ensure even cooking and to create the characteristic cross-hatch marks. When the food is done, it is lifted off the grate and the burners can be turned off immediately, leaving the grill ready for the next service.

The MBM GF6R is built on a stainless-steel chassis that supports the burners and the cast-iron cooking grate. The 600 mm width matches standard worktop depths, fitting between cupboards or against a wall without overhang. The 270 mm height keeps the cooking surface at a comfortable working level, while the 59 kg weight gives the unit stability and reduces vibration when the grill is in use.

The controls consist of individual gas knobs for each burner section, allowing precise temperature management across the cooking surface. Each knob is marked with a graduated scale so the operator can return to the same setting for consistent results.

The 10.2 kW power rating indicates the total gas load the grill draws when all burners are at full output. This requires a dedicated gas line sized for the appliance, ensuring the supply can meet the demand during peak service without pressure drop. The 600x600 mm footprint determines the space the grill occupies on the worktop, leaving room for food preparation on either side. The 59 kg weight means the grill is moved only with a trolley or by two people, and it should be placed on a solid floor that can support the load without flexing.

Cleaning involves brushing the cast-iron grate while it is still warm to remove food debris, then wiping it with a damp cloth once it has cooled. The stainless-steel chassis is wiped down with a mild detergent solution after each service to prevent grease build-up. The burners should be checked periodically for blockages and cleaned with a wire brush if necessary, following the manufacturer's instructions to avoid damaging the ignition system.

The GF6R is a single model with no variants or optional extras listed.
