A detergent pump delivers measured doses of cleaning solution into the wash cycle of a commercial dishwasher. Instead of pouring liquid by hand, the pump draws detergent from a reservoir and releases it at the moment the machine calls for it, ensuring the right concentration without waste or manual timing.
The pump operates on a peristaltic principle: a motor drives a set of rollers that squeeze a flexible tube, pushing the liquid forward in precise pulses. This method prevents backflow, keeps the detergent uncontaminated and allows fine control over the volume dispensed. The pump mounts inside the dishwasher cabinet, connected to the detergent line and the control board.
To use the pump, the operator fills the detergent reservoir, connects the inlet and outlet tubes, and sets the dosing programme on the dishwasher control panel. When the wash cycle starts, the dishwasher sends a signal to the pump, which then delivers the programmed volume of detergent into the wash tank. The operator monitors the reservoir level and refills as needed, without interrupting the wash cycle.
The pump is housed in a compact casing measuring 82 mm deep, 103 mm wide and 92 mm high. It runs on a 230 V supply, matching the standard single-phase circuit used in professional kitchens. The capacity range of 0.5 to 3 litres per hour allows dosing for small under-counter machines up to large rack conveyors, adjusting the flow to the size of the wash load.
Cleaning involves flushing the inlet and outlet tubes with warm water after each service period to prevent detergent residue from hardening. The flexible tube inside the pump should be inspected for wear and replaced when it shows signs of cracking or hardening, as this affects dosing accuracy.
This pump is a spare part for commercial dishwashers, ensuring consistent detergent delivery in professional kitchen environments.
