An ice container keeps cubes solid by slowing the transfer of heat from the surrounding air. The double walls create a barrier of trapped air that resists temperature change, so ice melts more slowly than it would in a single-walled vessel.

To use the container, lift the black lid by its handle, fill the inner chamber with ice cubes, and replace the lid. The insulation works continuously without power or adjustment, maintaining the ice in a usable state for service.

The body is moulded in polystyrene, a lightweight material that also contributes to thermal resistance. The black lid fits securely to reduce air exchange and has an integral handle for easy lifting. The white outer surface reflects ambient light, helping to keep the contents cool.

The 5 L volume holds enough ice for a single service period in a small to medium kitchen station. The footprint of 190 mm diameter and 200 mm height allows the container to sit on a worktop or shelf without occupying excessive space.

Cleaning involves wiping the interior and exterior with a damp cloth; the polystyrene surface should not be exposed to solvents or abrasive cleaners. The lid is removed for separate cleaning and drying.
