Ceramic heating element
- : BHS-HoReCa
- Article number: BHS-3755830
A ceramic heating element generates radiant heat by passing an electric current through a resistive material encased in ceramic. The ceramic body absorbs the heat and emits it as infrared radiation, warming surfaces and food without direct contact. This method provides even, consistent heat distribution, reducing hot spots and preventing scorching in professional kitchen appliances such as grills, salamanders and heated shelves.
To install the element, the operator disconnects the appliance from the power supply, removes the existing element if present, and secures the ceramic heating element in place using the mounting points. Once fitted, the appliance is reconnected to the 230 V supply, and the element is ready to deliver radiant heat when the appliance is switched on.
The element is constructed from a ceramic body that houses the resistive heating wire, designed to withstand continuous high-temperature operation. Its dimensions—240 mm in length and 60 mm in width—allow it to fit standardised mounting brackets in commercial catering equipment.
The 1000 W power rating indicates the load it places on the electrical circuit, requiring a dedicated 230 V supply capable of handling the demand without overloading. The compact size and focused heat output make it suitable for appliances where space is limited but consistent radiant heat is essential.
Cleaning involves ensuring the element is cool and disconnected from power before wiping the ceramic surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust or grease. No abrasive materials should be used, as they can damage the ceramic coating and reduce efficiency.
This ceramic heating element is a direct replacement part for catering appliances that use radiant heat, particularly those designed for grilling, browning or keeping food warm at serving temperatures.
