A mobile cash register module brings the point of sale directly to the customer, eliminating fixed counters and queues. The unit rolls on castors, allowing staff to process orders at the table, at a pop-up station or at the end of a buffet line. Because the module is self-contained, it can be moved outdoors for events or into temporary spaces without rewiring.
The module is built around a secure cash drawer and a receipt printer. A touchscreen terminal displays the order, calculates totals and records payment. Optional card readers, barcode scanners and scales integrate into the same housing, so every transaction is captured in one place. The entire assembly is powered by a single mains lead, reducing cable clutter and trip hazards.
To use the module, the operator wheels it to the desired location and locks the castors. The terminal is switched on, the till software is launched, and the drawer is loaded with float money. Orders are entered on the touchscreen; the drawer opens automatically when cash is tendered. At the end of the shift the module is wheeled to a secure storage area and the drawer is emptied and reconciled.
Construction is tailored to order: the customer selects the material (stainless steel, powder-coated steel or aluminium), the colour, and the external dimensions. Internal shelving and cable management are organised to fit the chosen peripherals. The module is assembled and tested before delivery, so it arrives ready to plug in and use.
Controls consist of the touchscreen terminal, which runs the till software, and a key-operated drawer lock for security. Optional peripherals such as card readers and scales have their own interfaces, all mounted on the same worktop for easy access.
The module's mobility means it can be deployed wherever the workflow demands, freeing up permanent counter space. Its custom dimensions allow it to fit through doorways and into tight corners that a standard counter would block. The choice of materials ensures it matches the kitchen's hygiene standards and aesthetic.
Cleaning follows from the materials selected. Stainless steel surfaces are wiped with a damp cloth and sanitiser; powder-coated steel is cleaned with mild detergent to avoid damaging the finish. Castors are checked regularly for smooth rolling and locked securely during use.
Each BHS-007 module is built to the customer's specification, so no two are identical. The base article number covers the core assembly; additional equipment and finishes are quoted separately.
The module is listed in the BHS catalogue under Mobile Service Equipment.
