Double-walled hot water dispenser
A hot water dispenser maintains a reservoir of near-boiling water ready for tea, coffee, blanching, or stock preparation without waiting for a kettle or urn to cycle. An electric element heats the water inside a sealed tank; the tank's insulation keeps the temperature steady so the element only switches on when the level drops or the water cools slightly. This method delivers instant hot water at the tap while using less energy than a continuously boiling kettle or open urn.
The operator fills the 18 litre tank through the top opening, then switches the unit on. Once the water reaches the set temperature, the element cycles automatically to hold it there. A built-in glass scale shows the current volume, and a descale indicator lights when the tank needs cleaning. The tap at the front dispenses measured amounts; a stainless steel drip tray with a grid catches any spills and can be removed for emptying.
The body and tank are both made of polished stainless steel, which reflects radiant heat back into the water and reduces heat loss through the walls. Stainless steel handles with silicone coating remain cool to the touch and provide a secure grip. The entire unit stands on a worktop or counter, taking a footprint of 386 by 393 millimetres and rising 666 millimetres high.
A 2.2 kilowatt element draws current from a 230 volt single-phase circuit, the standard supply in most professional kitchens. The 18 litre capacity allows several litres to be drawn in quick succession without the tank running empty. The unit weighs 5.79 kilograms, light enough to be moved by one person when the tank is empty.
Cleaning follows from the materials and components. The stainless steel body and tank can be wiped with a damp cloth; the drip tray and grid lift out for washing. The descale indicator prompts periodic removal of limescale from the element and tank interior using a descaling agent.
The HENDI hot water dispenser is categorised under water boilers and dispensers in the professional catering equipment catalogue.
