A backbar freezer counter keeps bottled drinks chilled while they are displayed to customers. Instead of a compressor mounted inside the cabinet, the unit uses a separate cooling monoblock that sits outside the insulated body. The monoblock pumps cold refrigerant through small-diameter pipes into an evaporator coil inside the counter. Because the coil is thin and the pipes are short, the refrigerant moves quickly and the temperature drops evenly across every shelf and drawer. When the monoblock needs service or replacement, the pipes disconnect in seconds, so the whole unit can be swapped without tools and without emptying the counter.

The operator loads bottles onto the two self-levelling shelves at the top; as bottles are removed, the remaining stock slides forward so the next bottle is always at the front. Below, two drawers run on full-extension stainless steel telescopic rails, letting the operator pull each drawer fully out to reach the back without stretching. The drawers and shelves are set to hold standard Bordeaux wine bottles upright, so the labels stay visible and the corks stay moist.

The cabinet is built as a single insulated box with a solid worktop and a curved glass front. The cooling monoblock clips onto the side, drawing air through its own grille and expelling it away from the counter. Inside, the evaporator coil is mounted behind a removable panel, so it can be cleaned without disturbing the stock.

Controls are a simple thermostat dial that sets the temperature between –14 °C and –5 °C. A single LED pilot light shows the unit is powered and cooling. The 230 V supply connects to a standard UK plug, so the counter can be installed on any dedicated kitchen circuit without rewiring.

The 0.506 kW power rating means the unit draws about 4.1 A continuously, so it should be the only appliance on its circuit to avoid tripping the breaker. The temperature range of –14 °C to –5 °C keeps bottled drinks chilled but does not freeze them, so labels and corks stay intact. The 260 L volume gives space for two full shelves of Bordeaux bottles plus two drawers of stock, so the operator can keep a full display without restocking during service. The footprint of 1390 mm wide by 650 mm deep fits behind most bar counters, leaving enough room for the monoblock to ventilate at the side. The 860 mm height keeps the top shelf at eye level for customers standing at the bar.

Cleaning is limited to the parts the entry names: the two self-levelling shelves and the two drawers lift out for washing; the telescopic rails wipe clean; the evaporator coil panel unclips for dusting; the cooling monoblock grille is brushed to keep the airflow clear.
