A thermo mug maintains the temperature of a drink by slowing the transfer of heat between the liquid and the surrounding air. The double-walled construction traps a layer of still air or vacuum between the inner and outer walls, acting as insulation. This barrier reduces conduction and convection, so hot drinks stay warm and cold drinks stay chilled for hours without reheating or refrigeration.
To use the mug, fill it with the desired beverage, seal the lid tightly and carry it to the workstation. The screw-on lid prevents spills during movement, while the insulated walls keep the drink at serving temperature throughout a shift. When the shift ends, empty the mug, rinse it under a tap and leave it to air-dry with the lid off.
The mug is made of stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, staining and odour retention. The 350 ml capacity holds a standard serving of tea or coffee, allowing catering staff to keep a hot drink close at hand without frequent refills. The compact size fits under most worktop taps and in standard cupboard shelves, making it easy to store between uses.
Cleaning is straightforward: wash the interior and exterior with warm soapy water, using a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface. The lid can be unscrewed and washed separately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the insulation layer and reduce the mug's thermal performance.
