Tea packaging bags hold loose-leaf tea in measured portions for brewing. A filter paper pouch allows hot water to flow through the leaves, releasing flavour and colour while keeping the leaves contained. The bag is sealed after filling, creating a single-serving unit that is dropped into a cup or pot without spillage or mess. This method standardises portion size and steeping time across a busy service, eliminating guesswork and waste.

The operator fills each bag with the chosen quantity of tea leaves, folds the open end, and seals it with a heat sealer or adhesive strip. Once sealed, the bag is ready for immediate use or storage. The paper material is designed to withstand boiling water without tearing, ensuring the leaves stay inside throughout the brew cycle.

These bags are plain, unprinted filter paper, sized 225 mm long and 70 mm wide. The construction is a single layer of food-safe paper, free from adhesives or coatings that could affect flavour. Each bag holds up to 100 g of loose tea leaves, though smaller portions are common in professional use to control strength and cost.

The 225 mm length provides ample space for the leaves to expand during steeping, while the 70 mm width keeps the bag compact enough to fit standard cups and pots.

Cleaning is not required for the bags themselves, as they are single-use. The work surface and filling equipment should be kept free of dust and moisture to prevent contamination of the leaves before sealing.
