A preformed silicone hose connects gas appliances to fixed supply lines without sharp bends that kink or weaken the wall. The curved shape is moulded to follow the typical path from a tap or manifold to a hob, grill or fryer, so the hose lies neatly against the worktop or cupboard and does not sag or twist under its own weight.

Silicone is chosen for its flexibility and heat resistance. It remains supple across the temperature range of a working kitchen, so the hose does not stiffen in cold storage or soften when the appliance runs at full output. The transparent wall lets the operator inspect the interior for signs of wear, discolouration or debris without disconnecting the fitting.

The hose is supplied in a fixed curve that matches the standard spacing between gas taps and appliance inlets. One end fits a 16 mm connection, the other a 22 mm connection, covering the common sizes found on commercial catering equipment. The ends are plain and unthreaded, relying on hose clips or crimp fittings to secure them to the gas line and appliance.

To install, slide the smaller end onto the 16 mm stub and the larger end onto the 22 mm stub, or reverse them if the appliance inlet is the smaller size. Position the curve so it clears any sharp edges or hot surfaces. Tighten the clips evenly to avoid distorting the hose. Once connected, the hose should show no bulges, flattening or kinks; if it does, the curve is misaligned and the hose should be repositioned or replaced.

Cleaning is limited to wiping the exterior with a damp cloth to remove dust or grease. The interior is not accessible for cleaning and should be protected from contamination during installation. If the hose becomes stiff, discoloured or shows cracks, it should be replaced to maintain a gas-tight seal.

The hose is sold as a single article without fittings or clips, so the operator must supply the correct size and type for the installation.
