A plug-in steam foamer head delivers pressurised steam from the espresso machine's boiler to the wand, creating the micro-foam that textures milk for cappuccinos and lattes. The steam travels through an internal channel and exits via a small nozzle; when the nozzle is submerged in cold milk, the steam condenses, transferring heat and introducing air bubbles that expand into a smooth, glossy foam.
To use the head, the operator first ensures the machine is at operating pressure. The existing foamer head is unplugged from the steam wand by releasing the quick-release fitting. The new SCHAERER head is aligned with the socket and pushed in until the fitting clicks into place. No tools are required, and the connection is sealed by an integral gasket. Once fitted, the wand is ready to steam milk: the operator opens the steam valve, lowers the nozzle into the milk pitcher, and controls the flow with the machine's steam knob until the desired texture is reached.
The head is designed for a plug-in connection, meaning it attaches and detaches without threaded fittings or clamps. This construction allows rapid replacement during service intervals or in the event of wear, minimising downtime in a busy coffee bar.
Cleaning follows from the construction: after each use the nozzle is purged by briefly opening the steam valve to clear residual milk. At the end of the shift the head is unplugged and wiped externally with a damp cloth to remove milk residue. No disassembly is needed for routine cleaning, and the absence of threads prevents milk from drying in crevices.
This is a genuine SCHAERER spare part, fitting SCHAERER coffee machines that use a plug-in steam foamer head.
