An NTC temperature sensor measures heat by a resistance that falls as the temperature rises. The crimp plug connects the sensor to the control circuit, allowing the coffee machine to track brewing conditions continuously and adjust heating elements before the water drifts off the set point.
The sensor is inserted into the water path or boiler wall, where it sits in direct contact with the liquid or metal. A crimped connection secures the wires, preventing oxidation and ensuring a stable signal. Once fitted, the machine reads the resistance value, converts it to a temperature and uses that data to hold the water at the exact temperature programmed for espresso, tea or steam.
To replace the sensor, the machine is switched off and unplugged. The old plug is cut from the wiring harness, the new sensor is positioned in the same location, and the wires are crimped with the supplied connector. The machine is then powered on and a test cycle confirms the reading matches the expected value.
This part is a direct replacement for SCHAERER coffee machines that use an NTC sensor with a crimp plug termination. It maintains the original thermal accuracy and response time, keeping extraction consistent across every cup.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the sensor body with a dry cloth; no liquids or abrasives should contact the crimp or the sensing element.
