Electrode assembly SCHAERER Spare Parts 3328205199

An electrode assembly in an espresso machine detects water levels and controls the boiler's heating cycle. It completes an electrical circuit through the water, signalling when to start or stop heating to maintain the correct brewing temperature and prevent dry firing. Without a functioning electrode, the machine cannot regulate water levels accurately, leading to inconsistent extraction or potential damage to the heating element.

The operator does not interact directly with the electrode during daily use, but its role is critical behind the scenes. When water is added to the boiler, the electrode senses its presence and allows the heating element to activate. As water is drawn for brewing, the falling level breaks the circuit, prompting the machine to refill or pause heating. This automatic regulation ensures the boiler remains at the optimal temperature for espresso extraction without manual intervention.

This electrode assembly is constructed to fit specific SCHAERER espresso machines, where it integrates with the boiler's control system. Its design and materials are chosen for durability in high-moisture, high-temperature environments, resisting corrosion and mineral build-up over time.

Regular maintenance involves checking the electrode for scale accumulation, which can disrupt its ability to conduct electricity through the water. Cleaning with a descaling solution restores proper function, ensuring the machine continues to operate reliably. The assembly is a direct replacement for the original part, matching the dimensions and electrical specifications required by the manufacturer.

This component is listed under espresso machine spare parts in the SCHAERER catalogue.
