This high-quality GN refrigerated display cabinet is designed for professional use in the foodservice sector, ensuring reliable and efficient storage of food in GN 1/1 containers. It is a plug-in type cabinet, meaning it can be simply connected to a power source and used immediately.
A refrigerated display cabinet that holds chilled food at a steady temperature while keeping it visible and accessible for service. The static cooling system circulates cold air naturally, avoiding the drying effect of forced airflow and preserving the texture and moisture of prepared dishes, salads, desserts or pre-plated items. A glass shelf inside raises part of the load to eye level, making it easier for staff to reach without bending or stretching across the worktop. The cabinet cools by drawing heat from the interior and expelling it through a condenser coil at the rear. A small compressor cycles refrigerant R290 through the system, removing heat continuously. The static design means no fan is needed, so the unit runs quietly and uses less energy than fan-assisted models. An automatic defrost cycle pauses at intervals to melt any ice that forms on the evaporator, then resumes cooling without manual intervention. The touch control panel on the front lets the operator set the target temperature between +2 °C and +8 °C and monitor the current reading on a digital display. To use the cabinet, slide GN 1/3 trays into the runners inside. The unit accommodates five trays in a single tier. A glass shelf is supplied; GN trays must be purchased separately. Once the trays are in place, close the glass door and set the desired temperature on the touch panel. The cabinet will reach the set point and maintain it within the specified range. The door can be opened as often as needed during service without causing temperature swings that would compromise food safety. The exterior and interior are made of stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, staining and frequent cleaning with sanitising solutions. The technical compartment is housed on the right side, allowing service access without moving the cabinet or disrupting the kitchen layout. The unit weighs 18 kg, so it can be positioned on a worktop or mounted on a mobile stand if required. Its footprint of 1250 mm wide by 370 mm deep fits along a serving counter or against a wall, leaving space for other equipment on either side. The 230 V, 50 Hz power supply is standard for British commercial kitchens and requires a single-phase circuit. The 0.145 kW power rating means the cabinet draws minimal current, reducing the load on the electrical system. The temperature range of +2 °C to +8 °C is suitable for holding chilled food that must remain above freezing but below the legal limit for perishable items. The climate class 5 rating confirms the cabinet will maintain its performance even when the ambient temperature reaches +40 °C, a common condition in busy kitchens during peak service. After a busy service, the seamless stainless steel interior wipes clean in seconds, letting you reset the cabinet for the next shift without scrubbing or residue. The glass shelf can be removed for separate cleaning. The static cooling system has no filters to change, but the condenser coil at the rear should be brushed or vacuumed periodically to remove dust that would reduce efficiency. The automatic defrost cycle eliminates the need for manual defrosting, but the interior should be checked occasionally for any food debris that could block drainage channels. The VRPG/12S is a single model; no variants are listed. GN trays are not included, allowing the operator to select trays of the required depth and material for the specific menu items being stored.
