A micro filter removes coffee grounds from the brew by trapping particles on a fine stainless-steel mesh while allowing the liquid to pass through. Unlike disposable paper filters, this permanent filter is cleaned and reused, eliminating the need for constant paper replacement and reducing waste in a busy catering kitchen.
The operator places the micro filter into the brewer's filter basket, adds ground coffee, and starts the brew cycle. Hot water flows through the coffee bed, extracting flavour and oils, then passes through the mesh, leaving the grounds behind. Once brewing is complete, the used grounds are discarded, and the filter is rinsed or washed for the next use.
Constructed from stainless steel, the Micro Filter 400 is built for repeated contact with hot water and coffee oils without corroding or absorbing odours. The 400 mm diameter matches the standard filter basket size in many commercial coffee brewers, ensuring a secure fit and consistent filtration across multiple brewing cycles.
Cleaning is straightforward: after each use, the filter is rinsed under running water to remove residual coffee grounds. For deeper cleaning, it can be soaked in a mild detergent solution or run through a dishwasher programme, provided the manufacturer's guidelines for stainless steel are followed. Regular maintenance prevents clogging and maintains the filter's efficiency.
This filter is designed as a direct replacement for disposable paper filters in compatible BRAVILOR BONOMAT coffee brewers and other commercial machines that accept a 400 mm stainless steel micro filter.
