Filter cups hold the ground coffee in a commercial coffee machine while hot water passes through, extracting the flavour and oils. The water is forced under pressure through the coffee bed, creating the brewed coffee that collects below. The size and shape of the cup determine how much coffee can be used and how evenly the water flows, which affects the strength and consistency of each batch.
To use these filter cups, the operator places a measured dose of coffee grounds into the cup, levels the surface, and inserts the cup into the machine's brew head. Once the brewing cycle starts, the machine seals the cup and pumps hot water through it. After the cycle finishes, the used grounds are removed with the cup, which is then rinsed and reused or replaced with a fresh one for the next batch.
These filter cups are made to fit machines with a 110 mm or 360 mm diameter brew head, matching the two standard sizes used in professional catering equipment. The cups are supplied in a box of 250, providing a bulk quantity for high-volume kitchens where coffee is served throughout the day.
The diameter specification ensures compatibility with the correct brew heads, preventing leaks or misalignment during operation. The quantity in each box allows for organised stock management in a busy kitchen, reducing the frequency of reordering.
Cleaning involves rinsing the cups after each use to remove coffee residue and oils. Regular inspection for wear or damage helps maintain consistent brewing results and prevents grounds from bypassing the filter.
