To operate, the user turns the tap handle, which rotates the moving ceramic disc against the fixed one. As the discs slide into alignment, water flows; as they turn away, the flow reduces or stops. The left-hand thread ensures the cartridge screws into the tap body in the correct orientation for the specified models, preventing cross-threading and ensuring a secure fit.

The cartridge is constructed from ceramic discs housed in a brass body, providing durability and resistance to high water pressures typical in professional kitchens.
