A ceramic contact grill presses food between two heated plates, sealing juices inside while creating a crisp exterior. The plates transfer heat directly to the surface of burgers, panini or vegetables, so the food cooks on both sides at once without flipping.
To use the PV2099, the operator lowers the upper plate onto the food placed on the lower plate. The grill's controls set the temperature and cooking duration; once started, the plates maintain the chosen heat until the timer signals completion. The operator then lifts the upper plate, removes the cooked items and reloads for the next cycle.
The PV2099 is built with a stainless-steel body and ceramic-coated heating plates. The ceramic surface resists sticking and spreads heat evenly, reducing hot spots that can scorch food. A single control panel houses the temperature dial and timer, allowing the operator to adjust settings without interrupting the cooking process.
The 2.4 kW power rating means the grill draws a steady load on a 230 V circuit, typical of commercial kitchen supplies. The 22 kg weight keeps the unit stable on a worktop while still allowing it to be moved with a trolley. Its footprint of 590 mm by 420 mm fits standard work surfaces, leaving room for preparation alongside.
Cleaning involves wiping the ceramic plates with a damp cloth after each service to remove food debris, then running a dry cycle to burn off any residue. The stainless-steel exterior can be cleaned with a mild detergent and water, avoiding abrasive pads that could scratch the surface.
The PV2099 is listed in the VEMA professional catering catalogue under contact grills.
