A ceramic contact grill presses food between two heated plates, sealing the surface and locking in juices while cooking both sides at once. The upper and lower plates reach the same temperature, so heat transfers evenly without flipping or turning. This method gives consistent browning and a firm texture, especially for thin cuts of meat, poultry, fish and vegetables.
The operator lowers the top plate onto the food, which rests on the fixed lower plate. Both plates are ceramic-coated, distributing heat across the entire surface without hot spots. Once the food is loaded, the grill maintains steady contact until the cooking cycle finishes. The plates open automatically, allowing the food to be removed without sticking.
The PV2064/2 is built as a single unit with a stainless-steel exterior. The ceramic plates are non-stick and resistant to scratching, reducing the need for oil and making cleaning easier. The grill stands on adjustable feet to level it on uneven worktops.
Controls consist of a single thermostat that sets the plate temperature. An indicator light shows when the plates have reached the selected heat. The 230 V supply connects to a standard single-phase circuit, suitable for most commercial kitchens.
The 590 mm width fits on a standard worktop, leaving space for preparation alongside. The 22 kg weight allows two people to move it without a trolley, though it is designed to stay in place during service. The ceramic plates require no seasoning and can be wiped clean after each use. The stainless-steel body is wiped down with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
The PV2064/2 is placed in the catalogue under contact grills and counter-top cooking equipment.
