The SAMMIC AT-12-2/70 is a shock freezer designed for rapid temperature reduction of food products. This type of appliance works by extracting heat from food at a much faster rate than a standard refrigerator. It uses high-power compressors and an indirect airflow system to circulate cold air efficiently, forcing heat out of the food and achieving quick chilling to +3 °C or deep-freezing to a core temperature of -18 °C.
The process begins by loading the food into the unit. The operator can then select a chilling cycle. The unit offers cycles based on temperature, time, or a core probe. The HARd function is used for rapid cooling, while the SOFt function is for deep-freezing. The blast chiller achieves its target temperatures within four hours. At the end of a cycle, data is stored, and customisable cycles and settings can be saved for future use. Optional cycles include defrosting, internal sterilisation, cooling by core probe, and ice cream freezing.
Constructed from stainless steel, the blast chiller features hygienic cathodic protection and cataphoresis-treated evaporators, making it easy to clean. It includes Bluetooth connectivity, WI-FI connectivity, and Ozone sterilisation.
The unit has a capacity of 70 kg. Its power consumption is rated at 3.8 kW, operating on a 230 V supply. The external dimensions are 820 mm in length, 1130 mm in width, and 1825 mm in height. The operating temperature range is from 3 °C to 90 °C. The appliance weighs 250 kg.
Cleaning and upkeep are facilitated by the stainless steel construction and the hygienic cathodic protection. The evaporators are treated with cataphoresis.
This shock freezer is listed in the catalogue under cold equipment and blast freezers.
