An oven grid provides a stable, ventilated platform inside a professional oven. Hot air rises from the base, circulates through the gaps in the grid and surrounds the food evenly. The chrome plating reflects heat back into the oven cavity, helping to maintain a consistent temperature across the entire surface. This method prevents cold spots and ensures even cooking without the need to rotate trays during the cycle.
The grid is placed directly on the oven runners or rails. Baking trays, roasting pans or perforated sheets are set on top, keeping them clear of direct contact with the oven floor. The open construction allows air to flow beneath the tray, so heat reaches the underside of the food as well as the top and sides. When the cycle finishes, the grid is lifted out with oven gloves and set on a heat-resistant worktop to cool.
Constructed from iron and finished with a chrome plating, the grid resists corrosion and withstands the high temperatures of a commercial oven. The plating also makes the surface easier to wipe clean after use.
The 600 x 400 mm footprint matches standard gastronorm tray sizes, fitting most professional ovens without overhang. At 2.3 kg, the grid is light enough to handle with one hand while wearing protective gloves, yet rigid enough to support heavy roasting joints or stacked trays.
Cleaning is straightforward: once cooled, the grid is wiped with a damp cloth to remove food debris, then dried to prevent water spots on the chrome finish.
