Tea Accessories are an essential part of bar and service culture in establishments where tea is a key element of the offering or an important addition to the coffee menu. Professional tea accessories — infusers, brewers, teapots, timers and serving items — ensure high-quality, consistently prepared tea and a premium service for guests. BHS offers tea accessories as part of the Bar Accessories range to restaurants, cafés, hotels and tea houses across Europe.
Tea culture in today’s HoReCa sector is evolving similarly to the specialty coffee movement — demand from specialty tea enthusiasts for precise water temperature, brewing time and quality tea leaf tools is growing. Also explore the Beverage Thermoses and Percolators range and barista accessories for a complete bar accessories set.
Tea accessories determine the quality of tea preparation and serving — from water temperature control to the precision of tea leaf brewing. Professional tea accessories differ from household counterparts with higher durability, more hygienic materials and a wider range of functions. In cafés, hotels and restaurants where tea is a popular offering, quality tea accessories are an everyday service element.
Tea infusers are the basic tool for serving loose-leaf tea — they allow brewing tea leaves directly in a cup or teapot without the leaves entering the drink. Fine-mesh infusers are suitable for fine-leaf teas and carefully prepared tea leaves, while coarser meshes are suitable for standard tea leaf types.
Infusers — baskets or capsules placed in a cup or teapot — are more convenient for brewing, as the tea leaves remain in the infuser. Silicone or stainless steel infusers are easy to clean and durable for intensive use. Internal teapot filters also provide an aesthetic serving solution, where guests can see the tea leaf infusion process.
The teapot is the main tea serving vessel — it retains heat longer and allows serving multiple portions without repeated brewing. Professional teapots made of stainless steel are more durable, lighter and better at maintaining temperature than ceramic or porcelain options. Large-capacity teapots with a volume of 0.6–1.5 litres are ideal for table service for groups and buffet tea stations.
Serving tea with a separate pot of hot water and a tea infuser on the side is a professional serving standard that allows guests to adjust the tea strength to their preference. A teapot with a heat-resistant handle or candle warming keeps the tea at the right temperature at the table throughout the tea enjoyment.
Different tea varieties require precise water temperature — green tea should be brewed at 70–80°C, black tea at 90–95°C, white tea at 75–85°C. Incorrect temperature destroys the tea’s aroma and flavour nuances. A thermometer for water temperature control is an important tool in specialty tea preparation.
A tea timer allows precise control of brewing time — black tea usually takes 3–5 minutes, green tea 2–3 minutes, white tea 2–4 minutes. Like coffee brewing, adhering to the exact brewing time ensures optimal tea flavour and prevents a bitter or over-extracted drink. Explore the Timer and Thermometer range in the bar accessories selection.
Tea accessories must be washed and disinfected after each use — especially tea infusers, where tea leaf residues can remain, promoting bacterial growth. Stainless steel and silicone accessories are dishwasher-safe. Ceramic and porcelain teapots should be washed manually or in a machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Limescale deposits on water heating elements and teapots must be regularly removed with descaling agents — limescale reduces heating efficiency and can affect the tea’s flavour. The BHS range includes descaling agents for bar equipment.
A full tea serving set in a specialty tea café — teapot, infuser, sand timer and water thermometer — offers a premium tea experience that attracts tea enthusiasts. A tea accessories set in a hotel room (teapot, infuser, various tea sachets) is a standard guest comfort element. In a restaurant, an elegant tea serving set at the table is reusable for each guest.

What is the difference between a tea infuser and an infuser? A tea infuser is a sieve-shaped container held over a cup, pouring the brewed tea through — the tea leaves remain in the infuser. An infuser is placed directly in the cup or teapot during brewing and then removed with the tea leaves. Both methods ensure a clean drink, but the infuser is more convenient for table service.
What is the optimal temperature for green tea? Green tea should be brewed at 70–80°C — a higher temperature destroys delicate aromas and makes the tea bitter. For high-quality green teas, such as Japanese gyokuro, the recommended temperature is even 50–60°C. A thermometer or electric kettle with temperature control is an essential tool for quality green tea preparation.
