Coffee Tables for Fuel Stations — a coffee table is more than just a simple table; it creates the coffee zone as a functional self-service area where the customer can quickly and conveniently prepare coffee without disrupting the cashier’s work or prolonging the queue; the right coffee table increases customer satisfaction and promotes coffee sales at the fuel station.

Coffee table construction and key parameters

Coffee Tables for Fuel Stations — the design of the coffee table is adapted to a specific self-service environment. Height for standing users — a coffee table for fuel stations is usually at standing height 90–95 cm; this allows the customer to handle the coffee cup comfortably without bending. Surface material — stainless steel is the most hygienic solution; laminated HDF or HPL surfaces are more resistant to scratches and more decorative; the choice depends on the station’s design concept. Power supply integration — the coffee table must have a power outlet or built-in lead for the coffee machine; electrical cables must be concealed within the body; see Coffee Serving Area. Drip tray area — there must be a space under the machine or next to the table where the customer can safely place the cup during preparation; some models have an integrated drip tray.

Coffee table accessories and additional fittings

Coffee Tables for Fuel Stations — the functionality of the coffee table is enhanced by accessories and fittings that BHS offers as a set. Sugar and milk sweetener holders — special containers or dispensers for storing sugar, syrup and milk creamers; clean and easily accessible; see Coffee Table Fittings. Napkin and stirrer holders — stainless steel or plastic holders for napkin boxes and disposable stirrers; regular refilling ensures customer convenience. Cup shelf or heater — some coffee table models include a built-in cup shelf with heating (pre-heating) for porcelain cups if the station offers ceramics. Lighting — LED lighting in the coffee zone can improve the sales environment and make the area visually more attractive, as well as enhance brightness in the dark coffee corner.

Hygiene and maintenance of the coffee table

Coffee Tables for Fuel Stations — hygiene is particularly important in public coffee zones, as they are used by many customers at different times. Daily cleaning — the coffee table surface should be cleaned with a damp cloth and disinfectant after each shift; dispensers and holders must be washed. Drip tray — the drip tray must be emptied regularly; a full tray creates an unsightly appearance and hygiene issues. Advantage of stainless steel — stainless steel is resistant to disinfectant chemicals and easy to clean even after a coffee spill; see Coffee Machines for Fuel Stations. Glass surfaces — if a glass surface element is chosen, care must be taken to avoid cracks and damage; replacing glass is more expensive than maintaining steel.

Placement of the coffee table in the fuel station

Coffee Tables for Fuel Stations — the correct positioning of the coffee table in the fuel station is important for sales and customer flow management. Near the checkout — the customer at the checkout sees the coffee zone and impulsively decides to buy coffee; optimising the distance between the checkout and the coffee table. Along the wall or in a corner — the coffee table is often placed along the wall; this frees up the central flow and allows several customers to use the coffee zone simultaneously. Coffee zone as a travel break — travellers at fuel stations often take a break; a coffee zone with a comfortable table encourages longer stays and additional product purchases; see Coffee Serving Area.
