CAPITOL S

Heat pump tumble dryers 11–22 kg

Most industrial dryers expel warm, moist air outside. This means that the room needs an exhaust duct, and along with the moisture, the heat that has already been paid for is also lost. A heat pump dryer operates in a closed cycle: moisture is removed from the air and drained away, while the heat remains in the unit and is reused.

The Danube HPi GOLD series is designed specifically for rooms without access to the outside environment. Danube indicates that the design significantly simplifies the commissioning of the unit without losing efficiency and maximising the use of available space. Available capacities: 11, 14, 18 and 22 kg.

They are chosen for properties in old buildings and heritage sites where installing an exhaust on the façade is not permitted, rented spaces, basements and interior rooms without an exterior wall, as well as hotels, SPAs, guesthouses and laundries where a low energy consumption balance is important.

Why a heat pump

  • No external exhaust required — this is the main reason why this series is chosen. There is no need to drill the façade or coordinate with the building manager or heritage protection.
  • Easier installation — fewer construction works and faster commissioning.
  • Optimised energy consumption — heat is not expelled outside but remains in the cycle.
  • Easier maintenance — access to all components from the rear panel.
  • Lower environmental impact compared to the traditional exhaust solution.

Standard equipment

  • Easy Touch 2 control with a 7" touchscreen, fully programmable.
  • Care Dry moisture sensor as standard — the cycle ends as soon as the set moisture level is reached, without over-drying.
  • Double-glazed door as standard.
  • Reversible cylinder as standard — laundry does not tangle and dries evenly.
  • Stainless steel cylinder as standard.
  • Soft Dry — cylinder with punched openings that gently handle fabrics.
  • Cool Down — cooling at the end of the cycle to prevent wrinkling.
  • Wide-opening doors at 180° and a wide filter drawer.

Equipment features

AISI 304 stainless steel body or front panel, tropicalised version (ET2), reversible door opening. Note that most functions that are optional in other series — Care Dry, double-glazed door, stainless steel cylinder — are already included as standard in this series.

Frequently asked questions

Is an external exhaust really not required?

Yes, this is the main difference of this series. A heat pump dryer operates in a closed cycle, so there is nowhere to expel the moist air. This opens up the possibility to install the dryer in a basement, an interior room without an exterior wall or a building where the façade cannot be altered.

How does a heat pump save energy?

A traditional dryer heats the air, passes it through the laundry and expels it outside along with the heat. A heat pump separates the moisture from the air and retains the heat in the cycle, so the same heat is used again and again.

Is the cycle longer than with a conventional dryer?

Heat pump technology operates at lower temperatures, so the cycle tends to be longer than with a high-temperature exhaust dryer. However, the lower temperature protects fabrics, and the consumption per cycle is lower. If maximum output is crucial and an exhaust is available, consider the DD GOLD series.

Is a condensate drain required?

Yes, the moisture removed from the air must be drained into the sewage system. This is a much simpler solution than an air exhaust through the wall.

What is Care Dry and why is it included as standard?

A moisture sensor that stops the cycle as soon as the laundry reaches the set moisture level. This prevents over-drying, which is both unnecessary consumption and the main cause of fabric wear.

Is additional ventilation required in the room?

A heat pump dryer releases heat into the room. In a small laundry room, this is worth considering when planning — contact us, and we will assess your room conditions.

No way to install an exhaust in the room? Contact BHS — we will assess whether a heat pump solution is suitable for your property and which capacity will be optimal.
