FD series ice makers stand out with their compact and durable stainless steel design, reliable operation, and high-quality ice cubes specially suited for serving drinks in professional environments. The modular design allows connection to a separate ice storage bin, adapting the solution to professional needs and the required storage capacity in food retail and restaurants.
Cooling system – water or air.
12 g ice cubes.
An ice maker built for continuous production of dense, slow-melting ice cubes that hold their shape in drinks and displays. The ICE TECH 12 g FD415 draws water from the supply, circulates it through a refrigerated evaporator, and freezes it layer by layer into clear, solid cubes. A timed harvest cycle releases the cubes into a separate storage container, allowing the machine to start the next batch without interruption. This cycle repeats automatically, maintaining output around the clock.
To begin, the operator connects the water inlet, selects the voltage (230 V or 400 V), and switches the machine on. The control panel starts the refrigeration compressor, which pumps refrigerant R290 through the evaporator coils. Water cascades over the coils, freezing into thin sheets that are then cut into cubes by a grid of heated wires. Once the cubes reach the set thickness, the harvest cycle begins: the wires briefly warm, loosening the cubes, which drop into the modular storage container below. The machine resets and begins the next freeze cycle immediately, ensuring a steady supply of ice.
The 12 g FD415 is constructed from stainless steel panels and an aluminium evaporator, chosen for corrosion resistance and efficient heat transfer. The cooling system can be configured for air or water cooling, allowing the machine to adapt to different kitchen environments. A removable front panel provides access to the evaporator and water distribution system for routine cleaning. The machine's footprint—762 mm wide, 620 mm deep, and 760 mm high—fits under most worktops or on a sturdy shelf, while its 105 kg weight requires a stable surface or optional castors for mobility.
The power rating of 11.185 kW indicates a significant electrical load, requiring a dedicated circuit with appropriate wiring and circuit protection. The voltage options (230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase) allow the machine to integrate with standard UK commercial power supplies. The refrigerant R290 is a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential, complying with current environmental regulations.
Cleaning involves removing the front panel to access the evaporator and water distribution system. The evaporator should be brushed or wiped to remove mineral deposits, and the water inlet filter checked for debris. The modular storage container, sold separately, should be emptied and sanitised regularly to prevent ice bridging or contamination. The cooling system—whether air or water—requires periodic inspection to ensure unobstructed airflow or water flow, respectively.
The ICE TECH 12 g FD415 is available with either air or water cooling (Article 58407). It does not include a built-in storage bin, allowing the operator to pair it with a container sized to their daily needs.
