Temperature mode -24/ -14 °C
A chest freezer keeps food frozen by circulating cold air around a single, unpartitioned compartment. The evaporator coils run along the inner walls, drawing heat out of the stored items and lowering the temperature below the freezing point of water. Because cold air sinks, the lid opens from the top, so the coldest air stays inside when the freezer is accessed. This design minimises temperature fluctuations and reduces the energy needed to restore the set point after each opening.
To use the FR405-SL, plug the unit into a 220-240 V supply. Set the desired temperature between -24 °C and -14 °C using the thermostat control. Load the basket with items to be frozen, then lower it into the compartment. The built-in thermometer lets the operator monitor the internal temperature without opening the lid. When defrosting is needed, meltwater collects at the base and drains through the dedicated outlet. The lockable handle secures the contents overnight or during service breaks.
The cabinet is constructed from powder-coated steel, while the inner liner is finished in white powder coating for easy cleaning. Four castors allow the freezer to be moved across the kitchen floor; the brake on each castor locks the unit in place once positioned. The refrigerant is R600a, a hydrocarbon with low global warming potential.
The 0.23 kW power rating indicates the electrical load the freezer draws from the circuit. A 377 L volume provides space for bulk storage of frozen goods, while the 62 kg weight allows two operators to reposition the unit without mechanical assistance. The 1284 mm length, 700 mm width and 945 mm height determine the footprint on the kitchen floor and the clearance needed around the unit for ventilation and lid opening.
Cleaning involves wiping the inner liner with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then drying it thoroughly. The defrost water drain should be checked regularly to ensure it is clear. The castors and brake mechanism require occasional lubrication to remain smooth and effective.
The FR405-SL is a single model with no variants. It is listed in the catering equipment catalogue under commercial refrigeration, chest freezers.
