Temperature mode +2/+6 SELF-SERVICE
A self-service drop-in chiller keeps prepared food visible and chilled without opening a door. Cold air circulates continuously from a concealed fan, drawing heat away from the shelves and maintaining an even temperature across every level. The glass front lets customers see the products while the refrigeration cycle runs quietly behind the scenes, preserving freshness without drying the items or requiring staff to serve each portion.
The Virginia 1000 Low is designed for countertop installation. The operator slides the rear door open, loads the two adjustable shelves with pre-packaged sandwiches, pastries or salads, and closes the door. The electronic control unit is set to the desired temperature between +2 °C and +6 °C. Once powered on, the unit begins cooling automatically, with defrosting and evaporation managed by the system without manual intervention. LED lighting above and below the shelves illuminates the display, making the products stand out in a shop or bakery environment.
The exterior is constructed in inox, a brushed stainless steel that resists fingerprints and matches other professional catering equipment. The double-tempered glass front is secured in a sturdy frame, allowing customers to view and select items without opening the case. Inside, the ventilation cooling system ensures air moves evenly across both shelves, preventing hot spots and keeping every item at the same temperature.
The control panel features an electronic unit that sets the temperature and monitors the cooling cycle. Automatic defrosting and evaporation remove excess moisture without requiring manual cleaning of ice build-up, reducing daily maintenance tasks. The rear sliding door provides easy access for restocking and cleaning, while the compact footprint of 990 mm wide, 743 mm deep and 1095 mm high fits neatly into a worktop or counter setup.
A power rating of 0.57 kW indicates a modest load on the electrical supply, suitable for a standard 230 V single-phase circuit commonly found in retail and foodservice settings. The weight of 200 kg means the unit is stable once installed but requires two people or a trolley for initial positioning. The temperature range of +2 °C to +6 °C is tailored for chilled ready-to-eat foods, keeping them safe while maintaining texture and flavour.
Cleaning involves wiping the inox exterior and glass front with a damp cloth, while the interior shelves and rear door can be removed for thorough washing. The automatic defrosting system reduces the need for manual ice removal, and the ventilation system prevents dust build-up inside the unit. The refrigerant used is Freon R134a, a common choice for commercial refrigeration.
The Virginia 1000 Low is available in two heights: 1095 mm with two shelves, and 1324 mm with three shelves. This model is the lower version, offering a compact display solution for smaller counters or limited floor space.
The product is categorised under self-service refrigerated display cases, designed for retail and foodservice environments where customers select items directly from the chiller.
