Steam wand heat shield LF L1187501

A steam wand heat shield stops the metal lance from scorching fingers while texturing milk. The wand heats to high temperature, and the operator's hand must grip it close to the tip. Without protection, the metal conducts heat directly to the skin; with the shield in place, styrofoam insulates the contact area so the barista can hold the wand securely throughout the foaming cycle.

The operator slides the shield over the wand before starting the machine. Once the steam is flowing, the hand rests against the styrofoam while guiding the tip into the milk pitcher. After foaming, the shield is removed and rinsed to clear any milk residue.

The shield is made of styrofoam, sized to fit the standard 8 mm diameter steam wands used on the listed espresso machines.
