A plate trolley keeps hot or cold plates organised between the pass and the service station without stacking. The open grid shelves let air circulate so plates stay at the right temperature until they are needed. Each shelf is sized to hold plates edge-to-edge, preventing contact that can chip rims or smear food. The trolley itself moves on swivel wheels, two of which lock to hold the unit steady while plates are loaded or unloaded. To use the trolley, unlock the braked wheels and roll it to the pass. Slide plates onto the shelves one by one, starting at the bottom to keep the centre of gravity low. Once all shelves are filled, lock the brakes and wheel the trolley to the service area. Plates are removed in the same order, top shelf first, so the trolley does not become top-heavy. The handles at each end give a firm grip for pushing and pulling, even when the trolley is fully loaded. The supporting structure is plastic-coated steel, which resists rust and scratches from constant handling. The grid shelves come in chrome-plated or painted finish, both designed to support the weight of 96 plates without sagging. Wheels are 125 mm in diameter, large enough to roll smoothly over door thresholds and floor joints in a busy kitchen. The footprint of 70 cm by 70 cm fits through standard kitchen doorways and service lifts. The overall height of 173 cm allows plates to be stored from floor level to just below eye level, so staff can reach every shelf without stretching. The 50 kg weight keeps the trolley stable when loaded but still light enough for one person to move it when empty. Cleaning is straightforward: wipe the plastic-coated frame and grid shelves with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The wheels can be cleaned with a brush to remove debris that might jam the swivel mechanism. The chrome-plated grid slides out without tools so the entire rack can be rinsed under a tap or run through the dishwasher after service. The trolley is supplied in two variants: chrome-plated grid or painted grid. Both variants share the same dimensions, capacity and construction.
