A plate trolley keeps hot or cold plates organised between the pass and the service point without handling each one individually. The grids create a stack of shelves that let air circulate around every plate, so food stays at the right temperature until it reaches the guest. The trolley itself is pushed by hand, so it moves where it is needed without tying up a fixed rail or conveyor. The operator loads plates onto the grids, starting from the bottom shelf and working upwards. Each shelf holds a single layer, so plates do not touch and there is no risk of chipping or scratching. Once loaded, the trolley is wheeled to the service station or held in the pass until the order is ready. The two braked wheels lock the trolley in place while plates are removed, preventing it from rolling away on a sloped floor. When the service is finished, the empty trolley returns to the wash-up area or is stored against a wall. The supporting structure is plastic-coated steel, which resists corrosion from steam and detergents. The grids are white painted steel, giving a neutral background that makes it easy to see the plates. Handles on both sides allow the trolley to be steered from either end, and the 125 mm wheels roll smoothly over thresholds and floor joints. The 60 cm width and depth fit through standard kitchen doorways and alongside worktops. The 83 cm height keeps the top shelf within easy reach for most staff. The 23 kg weight allows one person to move the trolley when it is empty or lightly loaded, while the braked wheels keep it stable when it is fully loaded with 48 plates. The plastic-coated steel frame wipes clean in seconds, keeping the trolley ready for the next rush without water seeping into joints or leaving streaks on the white grids. The plastic coating on the steel frame prevents rust and makes it easy to wipe off food spills or grease. The grids can be removed for deeper cleaning if needed, and the wheels should be checked periodically to ensure they turn freely and the brakes hold firmly.
